The Boerne Independent School District Board of Trustees has been named the 2026 Outstanding School Board by the Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA), recognizing the Board’s leadership, commitment to students, and dedication to the Boerne community.
The TASA School Board Awards program has recognized Texas school boards that demonstrate outstanding leadership and a commitment to public education and their communities since 1971. This recognition represents the strength of a school board’s collective leadership and its impact on student success and the district it serves.
The Boerne ISD Board of Trustees was selected following a competitive regional and state-level process that considered school boards from across Texas. The selection committee recognized the Board for its ability to maintain a clear focus on students while providing strong governance, supporting instructional excellence, and planning thoughtfully for the long-term success of the district.
The committee also recognized the Board’s collaborative approach to governance and its commitment to creating the conditions in which students and staff can succeed. Trustees have demonstrated a willingness to listen to families, educators, and community members and to use that feedback to guide decisions. Their work reflects Boerne ISD’s core values of Every Child, Every Day; Respectful Relationships; Excellence through Integrity; and Commitment to Service.
“Boerne ISD is fortunate to have a Board of Trustees that understands that strong governance is ultimately about putting students first,” Superintendent Dr. Kristin Craft said. “Our trustees are thoughtful, engaged, and deeply committed to the future of this district. They ask the right questions, support our educators, and make decisions with both the needs of today’s students and the future of our community in mind. This recognition is a reflection of their collective leadership and the trust they have built with our staff, families, and community.”
“Serving on this Board is both an incredible responsibility and an incredible privilege,” Board President Courtney Darter-Bruce said. “This honor belongs to our entire Boerne ISD community. Our teachers and staff show up every day for our students, our families believe in our schools, and our community continues to support the work we do together. As a Board, our job is to listen, lead with purpose, and make decisions that keep students at the center. We are incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together and even more excited about what lies ahead for Boerne ISD.”
